The Accelerated Effect of Gibberellic Acid on the Saccharification of Barley Seed and Chlorella Cell

Abstract
|
|
|
This investigation was conducted to confirm the effedt of GA on the incerase of amylase activity which was reported by some investigators is the higher plants from the sacchrification viewpoint and to ascertain whether this effect affect chlorella,a lower algae or not.
The results obtained are as follows.
1) The amount of reducing sugar in the barley seeds that were cultured with 5 ppm GA for 4 days were increased about 80% compared with the control/
2) In the chlorella cells, the amount of soluble sugar increased when trated with GA.
3) But the incerase of amylase activity which resulted the effct on sacchrification of GA in the chlorella cells could net be defined.
